All the Details of Our Story

Hello Friends, I am Cheryl, the artist behind Miniature Details LLC.

about minature details llc vintage gifts shadow boxes, paper collections, ornaments gnomes

I design and create treasured vintage gifts such as shadow boxes with decoupage, vintage fabrics, old lace, buttons, and trinkets into beautiful home décor. I also craft vintage paper gifts for you as I am an avid reader and journal writer and wish to keep the art of letter writing alive!

My husband and I spend “our time” enjoying old bookstores, antique and thrift shops. I enjoy the “thrill of the hunt”, always searching for those vintage pieces that I can re-purpose.  A true “Junker with a vision”!

We also love exploring nature from beaches to forests to birds and plants and even my own backyard… I find lots of inspiration this way, as well as items I can preserve in my work.

My business started as a hobby crafting in the evenings and early hours of the morning.  I worked in Education as an Administrator for 20+ years. After working 12–14-hour days, sometimes 7 days a week, I was forced to leave for medical reasons. So, I took a leap and made my love for handmade a fulltime job.

You will find my products to be well made with quality and care as I take time to craft my products and believe kindness & cooperation is the key to success. I hold myself to the highest standards in quality & customer service.

My husband and I met on a blind date in 1997 and the rest is history (a very rich at heart one I might add!) which included the birth of our 2 boys, and I became the recipient of American Heart Association’s Rhode Island “Heart of the Year” Award in 2005.

We now live in Virginia with our cat El Gatos, ECO (Executive Cat Officer) of Miniature Details.  He and my husband, along with my two boys are behind the scenes here offering their support. They help everything run smoothly.

In my spare time, I am a collector of all things miniature and have a love for making gnomes.  I enjoy my lavender, rose and fairy gardens and often find them to be just the spot to journal out my next project as I watch the bluebirds and yellow finches carry on throughout their day.
